Our Origins

A New Heart in Silicon Valley

Officially chartered recently with Santa Clara as our home base, the Silicon Valley Golden Hearts Lions Club brings a fresh wave of dedication to the world's premier service organization.

We are a group of passionate individuals from diverse backgrounds across Silicon Valley, united by a singular motto: "We Serve." Our membership includes local business leaders, educators, healthcare professionals, and community advocates.

While Lions Clubs International is globally renowned for vision and diabetes initiatives, our specific charter has identified a critical, pressing need within our local community. We have committed our primary resources and energy towards supporting mental health and wellness initiatives for our youth.

Recently honored with a Mayoral Commendation from the City of Santa Clara for our outstanding early contributions to the community.

Youth Mental Health

Overcoming barriers to well-being in our local schools and communities.

The statistics are clear: our young people are facing unprecedented mental health challenges. The pressures of modern society, especially in the fast-paced Silicon Valley environment, are taking a toll. As Lions, we refuse to stand by. We are actively working to overcome barriers to well-being through direct action, education, and funding.

Student Speaker Contest

We actively host and sponsor the MD4 Student Speaker Contest. The recent topic, "Youth Mental Health: Overcoming Barriers to Well-Being," aligns perfectly with our mission, providing high schoolers a platform to share their voices and earn scholarships.

Community Fundraisers

We organize high-impact events, such as our Youth Mental Health & Wellness Fundraisers at local venues like Hotel Valencia, to raise crucial funds for local school support programs and crisis intervention centers.

Lions Quest Advocacy

We advocate for the implementation of Lions Quest, a comprehensive social-emotional learning (SEL) program, in local Santa Clara schools to build emotional resilience and life skills from a young age.
